A bone graft has been placed in the socket where your tooth was removed. Special care must be taken until the graft has covered over with gum tissue; about 4-6 weeks. Until then, a few granules may leak out as the socket is usually overfilled to compensate for this.
- Refrain from vigorous mouth rinsing or spitting. Gentle rinsing is okay after 24 hours. DO NOT USE PEROXIDE.
- No drinking through a straw or sucking on anything.
- No chewing on the graft site.
Strict adherence to these instructions will help ensure the success of your bone graft.
